The book opens with two chapter (excerpts?) on religious doctrines apparently by a William How (possibly an abbreviation), but the greater part of the volume consists of excerpts from plays in different hand, among then Pericles, The merchant of Venice, The Dutch courtesan, Antonio and Mellida, Sophonisba, Hyde Park, The insatiate countess, The valiant Scot, The great duke of Florence, Rival friends, Caesar and Pompey, and Maid of Honour.
